We are looking for volunteers to help out with Village Parents’ activities at the Charles Village Festival. We need people to help supervise the crafts table and to help run the Gunny Sack Races. This is a great opportunity to get involved with a Village Parents event without a huge time commitment. Hope to see you there!

3000 people gathered on the lawn in front of the State House on Feb. 25 to call upon legislators to approve a plan for funding school reconstruction throughout the entire city. The bill before the House and Senate plan requires the State to give the City Schools what would be normal construction funding over a 5-year period in one lump payment that will fund building improvements, not by patching up of surface problems, but by fixing the underlying causes (and in some cases replacing buildings altogether), to create stronger, better equipped, and more durable facilities for Baltimore City school students.
The support on Feb. 25 was amazing. Please continue to make the needs of our school students heard by contacting your legislators and asking them to support SB743 and HB860. More information and a sample letter to send to legislators can be found at http://www.transformbaltimore.org/.
